Joshua has practiced law in Texas since 2009 and has spent much of that career working in and around the Collin County criminal justice system. He is a former president of the Collin County Criminal Defense Lawyer's Association and has practiced criminal defense in Collin County for many years.

Earlier in his career he completed an internship with the Collin County District Attorney's Office, and he worked in the chambers of a justice of the Fifth District Court of Appeals in Dallas and of a Collin County district judge, and in the Child Support Division of the Office of the Attorney General of Texas.
